Artem Starosiek, the founder of Molfar competitive intelligence agency, met with detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU)

On June 4, 2021 Artem Starosiek, the founder of Molfar competitive intelligence agency, met with detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).

During the conversation, the detectives shared their experience in OSINT - open source intelligence - and gained skills in finding digital footprints in commercial registries and social media.

"Advances in technology dictate the need for new investigation techniques. The information can be found in open sources through the analysis of accounts, contacts and the content of posts on social media, reverse image search, automated search in registries and person profiles databases", - said Roman Osipchuk, head of the Internal Control Department. "Working with network infrastructure, metadata, links between domains requires technical background. Here detectives can benefit from the experience of colleagues from the business intelligence sector.”

Artem Starosiek stressed that in addition to collecting information from open sources, it must be interpreted properly: "The pieces of information collected must be put together into a single picture to become evidence and the basis of correct solutions.”
